George Fanaras
Biography
He was born in Komotini, he grew up in Thessaloniki and lives in Piraeus.
When he was 10 years old began learning Byzantine music. His teachers were Zacharias Paschalidis, Chrysanthos Theodosopoulos and Charilaos Taliadoros.
- He has got degree and a diploma with honors in Byzantine music.
- He taught Byzantine music and traditional song.
- He was a chanter in great temples of Athens and Thessaloniki as:
Church of the Ascension of Thessaloniki (6 years) & I.N.Ag.Nikolaou Kallithea (2 years).
Concerts abroad:
-With the Taliadoros Choir named Makedonia in Paris (Notre Dame), Nice, Monaco, Poland.
- with the Thomades (chanter monks of Athos) in St Petersburg.
- with the Cypriot composer Marios Tokas in Vienna, London and Cyprus.
He worked with:
Giorgos Dalaras, George Hatzinasios, Stefanos Korkolis, Stamatis Kraounakis,Yannis Markopoulos, Marios Tokas, Paschalis Terzis, Marinella, Manolis Mitsias,Michalis Hatzigiannis, Dimitra Duck, Konstantinos, Kostas Makedonas, Glykeria,Themis Adamantidis, Eleni Dimou, Dimitris Basis, Stelios Dionysiou, Gerasimos Andreatos,Peter Gaetanos, Aidonidis Chronis, Gregory Valtinos, Ieroklis Michailidis and Stamatis Fasoulis.
Other performances:
- Participated in "Rebirth" by Markopoulos with the choir "Macedonia".
- Founding member of the group "spira-spira" of Stamatis Kraounakis.
- He sang in "Irodeion" and the Concert Hall of Thessaloniki.
- He sang a duet with Marinella in Athens Concert Hall.
- He appeared with Marios Tokas & George Hatzinasios in the Theater "Vergina", Thessaloniki.
- In September 2008 he collaborated with George Dalaras in Cyprus.

- "Et in arcadia ego", with Mitsias Manolis, Kostas Hatzis.
- Participated in the cd "Sing your song", an ALTER’s (TV channel) production with two of his compositions.
- "Time apiene" oratorio of John Boufidis.
- In 2006 he released his first cd entitled "For you to say."
- In 2009 released his second cd entitled "I come back."
